Placename
Gaelic name: Wood Park
Name in Original Source: Wood Park
English meaning: Wood Park
Placename feature: Field
Notes: West Park as a name can be dated (like East Park and Mid Park) to the period of the improvement of the Applecross Estate lands in the early 19th century. This was the period of lessening Gaelic influence and identity in the Applecross lands, certainly in terms of the landowners. West Park is the westernmost of three adjoing parks, and has as its south-western border Allt Shardail. This field appears to have altered its boundaries very little in the last 200 years
