Placename

Gaelic name: Seann Taigh

Name in Original Source: Seann Taigh

English meaning: (The) Old house

Placename feature: Man-made

Notes: This is the way the ruin in front of 1 Culduie, the house belonging to the Fraser family today, is referred to. The ruined house belonged to Eoghan Crùbach's father's people, possibly. Then a new house was built for them by the Middletons so that the township houses would be in a straight line. The information came from Duncan Murchison, 24th October 2012, who said that as children, he and his contemporaries were warned not to play in that ruin as it has the fever in it. In other words, it was associated with TB (tuberculosis)
