Notes: This is a name applied to an area of the hill to the east of Loch Bràigh an Achaidh (q.v.) and Càrn na Paite (q.v.) Sgùrr is a high, sharp-pointed hill or a conical hill; conbhair is a man (or boy) who would look after dogs, especially hunting dogs. A number of hills bearing this name aare found in the Highlands, including in Contin parish. Connected with these places, very often, are Fingalian stories or legends
