Placename

Gaelic name: Mòine an Fhiocair

Name in Original Source: Mòine an Fhiocair

English meaning: The peatbank of the Fiocair

Placename feature: Land feature

Notes: John Gillies, c.1866-1949, originally from An Àird Dhubh, was known as Fiocair. He died in Kyle of Lochalsh aged 82. It seems that this name relates to him, or his family. They had a peat bank just off the track to An Àird Dhubh south of the little inlet called Poll Creadh Beag. Co-ordinates are approximate. Location name from Duncan Murchison, 24th October 2012
