Placename

Gaelic name: Lochan a' Ghàraidh

Name in Original Source: Lochan a' Ghàraidh

English meaning: Little lochs of the wall

Placename feature: Loch

Notes: A name given by Roderick Gillanders to the Scottish Place Name Survey in May 1971, designating (in particular) two long, narrow lochans lying north-south in the hill ground above the township of cfNa h-Uamhagan, although it is possible that a smaller loch lying to their wet may be included - it appears on modern satellite photographs but not on the Ordnance Survey maps used by the Survey. The co-ordinates used here are for the centre point of the northernmost of the two lochans
