Placename

Gaelic name: Lord Middleton's Loch

Name in Original Source: Lord Middleton's Loch

English meaning: Lord Middleton's Loch

Placename feature: Loch

Notes: A name which clearly dates to the era between 1862 when the Middletons bought the Applecross Estate, and the end of that era when the Estate was sold in 1929 to the Wills family. This loch lies somewhere above the township of Na h-Uamhagan in the southern end of the Applecross peninsula. The crew constructing the old deer fence, c.1965, would go fishing here. Exact location is unknown.
