Placename
Gaelic name: Lota pairt
Name in Original Source: Lot a peirt
English meaning: The part-croft(s)
Placename feature: Agricultural feature
Notes: In another source from Dr Alexander K. Gillies, this is described as being the southernmost croft land in Culduie. Rev. Dr. Kenneth MAcDonald, An Àird Dhubh, 29th November 2012, suggested that this section of the croftland was made up of 'parts' hence lota pairt? A hand-drawn map by Mrs Annie Fraser places it at the southernmost end of the township, almost a square adjunct to the croftland tucked in underneath the cliffs behind the house at Number 10 Culduie, home of Mr Murchison. Duncan Murchison, 24th October 2012, confirmed the exact location (marked by the supplied co-ordinates) as being the very southernmost croftland, on either side of a small stream which splits the field horizontally, just inside the township dyke
