Notes: One of a small number of cottages which stood just by the road when travelling west from what is known today as the White Gate(cfGeata Geal) towards An Clachan. A gable end can be seen in the more recent wall which was built when the Applecross Estate moved the boundary closer to the shore line. It was formerly used as a fishing mark (Sandy Cameron, 16/10/2001). <br /><br /><br /><br />John Crosby was a coachman in the employ of Lord Middleton, and was living in 'Milton Gardens' in the 1871 Census. He, his wife Dorothy and their daughters Hannah and Jane were all English, but son Henry and daughter Fanny were born in Applecross.
