Placename

Gaelic name: Lianag nan Ceàirdidhean

Name in Original Source: Lianag nan Ceàirdidhean

English meaning: Little meadow of the tinkers

Placename feature: Field

Notes: In local Applecross dialect, this name is pronounced Lee-un-ak nan Cyeearsht-in-en. This little green area is in Lower Toscaig just below, and to the north slightly, of the house owned by Doctor Littler. Just after Sandy and Morag Cameron got married (1973) there were still travellers, coming to stay there. It was a very common camping place for travellers when Rhoda Cameron was young, in the years immediately after World War I.
