Notes: The old locals simply called it Glac an Taigh Dubh, i.e. not grammatically correct. This name refers to a hollow somewhere in An Àird Dhubh(q.v.) where illicit whisky used to be made, but the exact location is unknown. The information came from Grace Ann MacBeath (1915-2005) on 19th April 2003, but the tradition had died out before her time. <br /><br />Alison MacLeod recorded this name in 2003 for the Applecross Historical Society. Ian Mackenzie's accompanying note on her list says: The black house hollow. This refers to the location of an illicit still 'between Ard-dhubh and Toscaig road
